At first sight, we want to give a quick glance through their daily life showing one of the following details: their current situation, personalities, social status, interests, etc.

OPENING SCENE INSPIRATIONS

A Silent Voice #Metaphorical images

Starts with a hint about the key love theme where the silhouettes of two people walk in the middle of a bright circle.

Then the male protagonist's journey is introduced through calendar scenes and his psychological symptoms are shown as he thinks of suicide which gives us a hint of a drama series that could related to the girl he owes money to.

Kimi ni Todoke #Dialogue

Starts with a scene where we can see the situation of the female lead at school where she is shunned by everyone because of misunderstandings

Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish #Music

Starts with a non-diegetic song over the settings under the sea and then leads into the life of the male protagonist like his diving hobby and university life

#The opening scene's music (Audio link) \The sound starts at 0:14\

Horimiya #Character's biography

Starts with a day in Hori's (female protagonist) life, during the lessons, her group of friends, and also her status as a popular girl at school but it also reveals some of her personality as she just has an ordinary life like the others and doesn't show off like what we usually think of a popular girl in high school. Besides, we also greet another main character, Miyamura, who seems like a weird guy in school through the way he dresses and what people think about him as he almost isolates himself from people at school. But it comes out that he is just like the other high school guy with a quite rebellious style wherein the scene where Hori and Miya pass each other on the lane.

In addition, it could also include a start-over voice introducing the current state in the lives of the main characters.

TRAILER INSPIRATION

Flavors of Youth

Internal Version (trailer) \combination of small scenes quickly flash through the lives of the three characters and the voice of all 3 characters reflecting on their lives plus large text illustrations showing 3 people in 3 different places but in the same situation and perspective.

---

As usual, the movie will start with the female lead’s voice telling about her daily life and this narrative method can be seen everywhere, therefore I want to apply this trailer technique in introducing the stories to make our narrative method more unique and hit differently. Even though it is the trailer, I was influenced by how they use the character's voice to express the character's thoughts to imply the main storyline in the plot.

Otherwise, we want to use enigma codes similar to how "A Silent Voice" has done, to create mystery factors for the story which raises curiosity among audiences to get them to keep up with the film until the final reveal at the end of the story. The enigmas are normally used in detective fiction which is a subgenre of crime and mystery fiction but they could also be applied in romance to make the plot unique from the typical romance plot. As the plot differs from others, it tends to make a strong impression on the audience.

Back to our opening scenes, we tend to spoil a bit of the ending, stimulating the curiosity of audiences to watch till the ending where the female protagonist standing alone at the sea, desperately missing her old lover. Then, to make the storytelling more realistic, we create a flashback as the shot moves closer to her face and cuts to the scene where they first met which gives the audience about how we get the 2 character approach. To alleviate the melancholy from the semi-finals, we think of an ironic context of the two people's first meeting mixed with a bit of humor to express the youth's energy and emotional pattern.
